Two Similar, but Different Methods

Although they both help support and strengthen your tree, there are some differences between cabling and bracing.

  • Cabling

    This involves using flexible cables to provide additional support to your tree’s structure. They’re attached at strategic points (weak or damaged areas). The cables are then secured to nearby healthy trees or specific anchor points on the ground.

  • Bracing

    This method sees the installing of rigid support rods directly to the tree. The rods are usually made of steel and are installed into the trunk or larger branches. Bracing is used to support split or cracked branches.
